The First Ride (Korean: 퍼스트 라이드) is an upcoming South Korean adventure comedy film directed by Nam Dae-joong. The film stars Kang Ha-neul, Kim Young-kwang, Cha Eun-woo, Kang Young-seok and Han Sun-hwa.[1][2][3] It depicts the unpredictable events that unfold as a group of childhood friends go on their first dream trip abroad. It will be released theatrically on October 29, 2025 in South Korea.[4]

Synopsis

Friends for 24 years, inseparable since childhood, the four buddies—Tae-jung, Do-jin, Yeon-min, and Geum-bok—have always shared the same dream: going on a trip together.

On the long-awaited day of their very first overseas adventure, a dream they never managed to fulfill back in their school days, an unexpected companion, Ok-shim, joins the group. From then on, their journey spirals into utter chaos.

Filming began on March 21, 2025 and ended on June 11.[2]

The First Ride was included in the lineup of the 2025 Cannes Film Market.[5][6]

Release

The First Ride will be released in South Korean theaters on October 29, 2025 by Showbox.[7]
