Thérèse Blanchet (born 22 May 1962) is the French-Swiss secretary-general of the Council of the European Union since 1 November 2022. She is the first woman to hold the post.[1][2][3]
Previously, from 2019 to 2022, she was Legal Counsel of the Council and European Council, and Director-General of the Council Legal Service.[4]
Personal life
[edit]Blanchet is married to Jouko Lempiäinen and has one child.[2][5]
