Manual of Style This template falls within the scope of the Wikipedia:Manual of Style, a collaborative effort focused on enhancing clarity, consistency, and cohesiveness across the Manual of Style (MoS) guidelines by addressing inconsistencies, refining language, and integrating guidance effectively. This template may fall under the contentious topics procedure and be given additional attention, as it may be closely associated to the article titles policy and capitalisation. Both areas are subjects of debate. Contributors are urged to review the awareness criteria carefully and exercise caution when editing. For information on Wikipedia's approach to the establishment of new policies and guidelines, refer to WP:PROPOSAL. Additionally, guidance on how to contribute to the development and revision of Wikipedia policies of Wikipedia's policy and guideline documents is available, offering valuable insights and recommendations.

Re creation of this template

This template was created (in lieu of redirecting to {{EngvarB}} or {{UBE}}) after this UBE discussion (4 Aug comment and table by Asdfjrjjj). A description of formal, written Caribbean English usage was routed to WP:CARIB/E (as this seemed more appropriate than adding to the mainspace article or to this template's documentation).

Possible tasks:

• create redirects for subdialects (eg have {{Use Belizean English}} redirect here with |country=bz preset)
• update {{Use}}
• update {{Use X English}}
• create {{Caribbean English}}
• maybe create {{Use Caribbean English progress}}
• maybe fork the Engvar script to work for CarE
• maybe fix code to categorise articles by non-date parameters

currently all articles go into Category:Use Caribbean English from <date>, but we might do subcategories by spelling style (eg Category:Use Caribbean English with Oxford spelling) or by subdialect (eg Category:Use Belizean English)

categorising by subdialect only or by subdialect and date (eg Category:Use Jamaican English from <date>) might maybe make merging of existing Use CarE templates ({{Use Antiguan and Barbudan English}}, {{Use Jamaican English}}, {{Use Trinidad and Tobago English}}) acceptable to Wikipedia community

• maybe add |engvar= parameter per this proposal (but Category:EngvarB recommends against its use due to deprecation of {{EngvarB}})
• maybe swap out the default |spelling=ox (which seemed like the prescriptivists' preference) for a default |spelling=mix (which seems like the de facto descriptivist reality for CarE, or at least some CarE subdialects [eg Bzean Engl])
