Proposal: Removing Citizenship Clause from Relevant legislation section

[edit]

Proposal: Removing the Citizenship Clause from the Relevant legislation section.

Reasoning: The Citizenship Clause (14th Amendment, Section 1, Clause 1) is a provision of the United States Constitution, and is therefore not a statute law (legislation) enacted by Congress. It's placement under the Relevant legislation section is inaccurate, irrelevant (see Wikipedia's policy on structure, relevance and accuracy), and may confuse readers of the template.

Solutions/Compromise:

1. Create a new section specifically for Constitutional provisions, and move the clause there.

2. Rename the section to something broader that would accurately encompass the Clause, e.g. "Legal authorities" or "Foundational law".
