Flags should NOT be in this infobox
[edit]Per MOS:INFOBOXUSE, "infoboxes should avoid flag icons." • Sbmeirow • Talk • 09:48, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
- See MOS:INFOBOXFLAG:
Human geographic articles – for example, settlements and administrative subdivisions – may have flags of the country and first-level administrative subdivision in infoboxes.

Description of suggested change:
There is a miscapitalization bug in the way the Congressional district "At-large" is handled. It generates a link to the over-capitalized redirect Alaska's At-large congressional district (in the case of Alaska; do other states do similar?). Maybe someone who knows how to code templates can see an easy fix to make it link instead to Alaska's at-large congressional district so that these won't show up in the maintenance report at Wikipedia:Database reports/Linked miscapitalizations. Add |disestablished_name=
and |disestablished_date=
parameters just below the |established_date=
parameter for defunct jurisdictions, using the exact same code as |established_name=
and |established_date=
.
And also use {{if}} to change [[Category:<state> counties]]
into [[Category:Former counties of <state>]]
if the |disestablished_date=
parameter is used. ToThAc (talk) 17:09, 18 February 2025 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: Including a "Sheriff" entry on this infobox, as nearly every county in the U.S. has a sheriff, some of whom are high-profile, such as Grady Judd, Gregory Tony, Robert Luna, among others.
Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the
{{Edit template-protected}}
template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:14, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose because other templates have too many "person" fields that quickly became stale with obsolete data because editors don't keep these fields up to date as employment changes over time. There is a mountain of incorrect names of people in articles that use "Template:Infobox settlement" and "Template:Infobox school". In general, we should be thinning down templates, not adding more junk into them! • Sbmeirow • Talk • 06:27, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
