Hieroglyphs

I propose that this template be modified so as to have a line for the name of the dignitary in hieroglyphs and with transliteration. Suffice to add an alt_name line that would appear as Name inside the box and would allow for the editor to put hieroglyphs. This is really really lacking in many cases and we thus have to put up with ugly hierobox in the articles. Iry-Hor (talk) 21:49, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Adding hieroglyphs, alt to template

Echoing Iry-Hor's proposal from 2014, I suggest modifying the template to add hieroglyphs, probably under "native_lang" and "native_lang_name" sections, as is already done with Infobox royalty. Use the sandbox for edits until the code is working

PharaohCrab, making 26 consecutive edits to a live template that is used in 250 articles is bad practice. Testcases page is showing up in maintenance category

Hi all, and particularly @Jonesey95. I notice that Template:Infobox Egyptian dignitary/testcases has a block at the end with what appears to be some parameters that were thrown in for testing purposes. As a result of Module:Check for unknown parameters, that testcases page shows up in Category:Pages using infobox Egyptian dignitary with unknown parameters. I don't want to risk breaking anything, so want to check if anyone is opposed to me deleting the test case table that's currently titled "Test2". Thanks!  Fixed. The template's parameter check had a bunch of errors in it, and some of those fixes did not make it into the /sandbox page. I have synced the sandbox with the live template to apply the fixes over there. – Jonesey95 (talk) 21:18, 9 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
