Colours, contents

Artanisen, I think your recent edits have made the template much too bloated for a sidebar, and the colours are garishly distracting. The red background in particular is incompatible with collapsible headings as it makes the show/hide links unreadable. I'd suggest creating a more comporehensive navbox-style template to hold the more detailed topics instead, and reverting this template to the more streamlined version, as sidebars should only contain a few main core topics. --Paul_012 (talk) 07:12, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Paul_012, this Culture of Thailand sidebar has the national colors of Thailand which is fitting. The amount of decoration is similar to for example Template:Culture of the United States. The Emblem of Thailand image was already there, but it could be replaced with the flag of Thailand since other countries display their national flag there. The Culture of the USA navigation bar has The greater coat of arms of the USA. I could change the red headings to blue which is less distracting. The amount of topics in the siderbar is similar to for example the navigation bars of the Template:Culture of Japan and the Template:Culture of Italy. So the template is not bloated and your argument that it should only contain a few topics is incorrect. -Artanisen (talk) 08:29, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Based on your feedback, I've changed the navigation bar header colors from red to white (light gray #f4f5f8) and the header text to blue #292549. These are also the national colors and not distracting. -~~~ Artanisen (talk) 08:54, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks; that is an improvement. Personally, I would prefer avoiding decorative colour use at all (like in the Japan and Italy examples you linked), but it's a contentious topic overall and I don't feel like arguing about it. So is the sidebar vs navbox issue—these are more systemic style questions that don't seem to have consensus either way, so I'll leave them for now. --Paul_012 (talk) 09:38, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
