Template talk:Active Pakistan Air Force bases

There is already a central template available for such content. I suggest it would be more suitable to merge this template there. Furthermore, the info in this template is outdated and inaccurate. PAF has more than three commands according to this article. Banshee 007 (talk) 08:09, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose I was actually quite happy to see the list of bases separate from main template because the latter was already too bloated. In terms of this template being outdated it can be updated if proper sourced content is added. Wikibear47 (talk) 13:21, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose This was created since the main template was definitely bloated, the inspiration came from Template:Active Royal Air Force stations. The information came from List of Pakistan Air Force bases. I can't currently access the official PAF website, i keep getting access timeout errors. Looking at the link you provided, Scramble doesn't include any command info, Defense Talks doesn't say what command Nur Khan is under. I also can't access reference No. 2 "Hashmi, Qadeer (2014). History of the Pakistan Air Force 1999-2013: Entering the new century", it just get timeout errors. Gavbadger (talk) 15:23, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Here and here. While the sources doesn't specifically mention another command, the picture does indicate Nur khan with the federal air command.
The websites you mentioned which were not working is likely due to the ongoing conflict between india and pakistan which is seeing cyber attacks on both sides. Banshee 007 (talk) 15:51, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Southern Air Command, Northern Air Command, Central Air Command, Air Defence Command and Federal Air Command do exist as per various sources in above mentioned articles. However I'm not to sure about Western Air Command. Wikibear47 (talk) 16:07, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How is the new Islamabad international airport a PAF Base? There is no source which says so. I think what you meant to indicate was the E-9 Complex at Islamabad which is a non-flying base. It houses the Air Headquarters (Pakistan) not any airfield. Banshee 007 (talk) 10:07, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
