Template:Uw-ewsoft
Hi Uw-ewsoft! I noticed that you've made several edits in order to restore your preferred version of an article. The impulse to repeatedly undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure that you're aware of Wikipedia's edit warring policy. Repeatedly undoing the changes made by other users in a back-and-forth fashion like this is disallowed, even if you feel what you're doing is justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages in order to try to reach a consensus with the other editors involved. If you are unable to come to an agreement, please use one of the dispute resolution options that are available in order to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of repeatedly reverting other editors' changes can help you avoid getting drawn into edit wars. Thank you.
This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-ewsoft}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
| Any breaking changes to this template, including moving it or nominating it for deletion, must be communicated in advance to Twinkle's users and maintainers at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle. The standard installation of Twinkle relies on this template. Thank you. |
Usage
[edit]{{subst:Uw-ewsoft}}{{subst:Uw-ewsoft|Article}}references a specific article{{subst:Uw-ewsoft|Article|Additional text}}adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"{{subst:Uw-ewsoft||Additional text}}or{{subst:Uw-ewsoft|2=Additional text}}also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the article.
Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-ewsoft}} rather than {{Uw-ewsoft}}.
To give greater detail to your message, you may add the article and some additional text to the end of the template. If such article or additional text includes a URL or anything which includes an equal sign ("="), it may break the parser's function unless you prefix the article or the text with a named template parameter. Use 1= if the article contains an equals sign and use 2= if the additional text contains an equals sign (such as a URL).
