Novato Narrows
[edit]As a select few of you already know, the new HOV lanes in the Novato Narrows are almost complete and ready for traffic. Once the lanes do open, I would suggest moving information about the Narrows to the History section, since the locally popular name may no longer be relevant. This section of US 101 has had an enormous facelift in the lead-up to the HOV lanes, which themselves are a project 30 years in the making for the counties of Marin and Sonoma. So, what information should be incorporated based on Wikipedia's inclusion guidelines? The HOV lanes are the most obvious answer. What other topics revolving around the highway ought to be essential? Looking forward to suggestions.
I found a reference that has some handy information. More will be added as they appear: [1] [2]

- If that entire upgrade project is included in the History section, then yes. Otherwise, I think its sufficient to just mention it in the "Names and memorials" section. As a matter of fact, that section is long as it is. Although it is commendable that the state legislature currently seems to want to honor the memory of every single fallen CHP or another law enforcement officer, or firefighter in designating various highway segments across the state, I think we should just limit this now to namesakes and eponyms that have their own stand-alone Wikipedia articles. - Good suggestion @Zzyzx11. It's important to note that "Novato Narrows" was a local catch-on rather than an official name. It'd fit more in the "History" section than the "Names and Memorials" section. Nebulous2357 (talk) 20:55, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
Tunnels
[edit]Upon re-reading the North Bay subsection, it dawned on me that the Gaviota Tunnel and the Robin Williams Tunnel are not the only tunnels along US-101. We seem to have forgotten about the pairs of tunnels at Park Presidio just south of the Golden Gate Bridge, which were added in a massive 2009-2015 replacement project. How should we fit these facts into the overall article? Any suggestions would be well-deserved. Nebulous2357 (talk) 18:43, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
