Requested move 24 September 2025
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Moved. No objections and the rationale seems reasonable, particularly given the Denver RM. — Amakuru (talk) 09:41, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Starkville–Columbus, MS CSA → Starkville–Columbus combined statistical area – See the recent RM at Talk:Denver–Aurora–Greeley combined statistical area#Requested move 10 September 2025. This is to remove the postal-style abbreviated state name and the relatively seldom-used "CSA" abbreviation (24 articles use "combined statistical area" and only 11 articles use "CSA", which could also refer to the Confederate States of America). Titles such as Nashville metropolitan area and Memphis metropolitan area do not include the state identification. If included, the state name should not be abbreviated and should be placed at the end, according to WP:USPLACE. Typically, "combined statistical area" and similar phrases are not capitalized on Wikipedia (24 titles use lowercase, only 8 use capitalization). — BarrelProof (talk) 02:49, 24 September 2025 (UTC)
