Concern/issue: Clarifying Structure of/Responsibility for/Running of MOS

[edit]

Like many govt-commissioned programs, Military OneSource (MOS) operations are contracted out to private companies. Unlike many, the entire program is run by one corporation, in this case as an "EAP for military employees" by Ceridian. It ought to reflect who actually is running the program--along with who it's intended to serve--for a more accurate article... I've got the relevant info & am glad to add it, but have only done minor-ish edits before. Recommendations/collaborators/? thx Borkzorkorc (talk) 22:58, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request to Update Outdated Military OneSource Article

[edit]

Hello, I’m affiliated with Military OneSource and am requesting an update to the entire article, which is currently outdated and missing key facts. I am disclosing this affiliation in accordance with Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines and will not edit the article directly.

I’ve prepared a proposed new draft in my user sandbox here: User:LenaLopez0725/sandbox

Key improvements include:

- A more accurate and cited history of Military OneSource

- Clarification of the program’s services, structure and eligibility

- Inclusion of official DOD and .mil sources

- Removal of outdated or uncited content

I’d greatly appreciate it if an editor could review and consider replacing the current version with the improved draft.

Thank you!   LenaLopez0725 (talk) 18:16, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request to Update Outdated Military OneSource Article

[edit]

Hi again and thank you in advance to any editors who may be able to assist. A few months ago, I shared a request to update this article, as it is currently outdated and missing key details. I am affiliated with Military OneSource and am disclosing this in line with Wikipedia’s conflict of interest guidelines, so I will not edit the article directly.

I've prepared a proposed new draft here: User:LenaLopez0725/sandbox.

Key updates include:

- A more accurate and cited history of Military OneSource

- Clarification of the program’s services, structure and eligibility

- Inclusion of official DOD and .mil sources

- Removal of outdated or uncited content

My goal is to ensure the article reflects up-to-date, verifiable information so that readers — especially military members and their families — have access to accurate details about the support and services available to them.

I would greatly appreciate if an editor could review the draft and consider replacing the current article text with the improved version or incorporating portions of it as appropriate.

Thank you. LenaLopez0725 (talk) 16:11, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The draft you prepared is highly promotional so there is no way to implement. For instance, you have an entire section on "ways to contact." This is something the organization would want people to know, but not something people coming to an encyclopedia are looking for. Think WP:READERSFIRST. The current page needs extensive cleanup (the first of which is removal of the section "services" which is highly promotional). Keep in mind WP:NPOV and WP:SOAPBOX and if you want to make another attempt at a draft, please ping me and I will take a look. CNMall41 (talk) 20:12, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
