Manimajra State → Manimajra state – I find "Manimajra state" in a couple of books, but "Manimajra State" in none. I looked at a couple of the refs that I could get to, and didn't find it capped. I expect this applies to a bunch of others in the same category, but this is the only one I've looked at so far. Comments on others are welcome, too, so we'll be in a position to decide what's next after this closes. Dicklyon (talk) 23:47, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- Comment. I checked four of the sources (out of 11 cited) and none of them say Manimajra state (or State), they seem to refer to it as simply "Manimajra". There is an article called Mani Majra, so perhaps Manimajra (state) would be the right move? TurboSuperA+(connect) 14:55, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- That's a good point. I find "the Manimajra state" in only one book that I can see, and "Manimajra state" in the index of one, pointing to a page that just says "Manimajra". Perhaps the parenthetical disambiguator is better. Comments are invited on both alternatives. We should look at some of the others maybe, and aim for a consistent solution. - I checked two more, Malerkotla State and Loharu State, and they're pretty consistently capitalized thus in sources. So "consistency" might not be the right goal here. Dicklyon (talk) 15:36, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME (for all Indian states) and WP:CONSISTENCY. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:41, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
Failed verification
[edit]Not sure why the sources have been tagged for failing verification. The Sahapedia source literally states: "After Bhagwan Singh’s demise, ownership of the fort passed on to the Faridkot royal family through his daughter Suraj Kaur’s marriage to Tika Balbir Singh of Faridkot." It clearly states that Suraj Kaur married the Faridkot ruler Balbir Singh. MaplesyrupSushi (talk) 03:14, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- As for the synthesis tag, the cited source states: "He [Maharaja Balveer Singh of Faridkot, "Balveer" is an alt. way of spelling "Balbir"] was married in district Ambala to the daughter of Raja Bhagwan Singh." MaplesyrupSushi (talk) 03:17, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
