Software or company?
[edit]It is not clear, is this article about a software or about a company?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.242.16.1 (talk) 09:48, 25 January 2012
Exactly, what IS linaro? And will linaro also try to upstream their patches and changes? Or is it 'just a nother fork(tm)' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.159.158.68 (talk) 12:22, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
This article reads like an advertisement
[edit]And that's not surprising, given that most of the edits are by Ebba Simpson, who is Linaro's marketing director. I'm not sure how to fix this besides completely rewriting the article. Beyond this, they removed my flagging the article as promotional. This is a clear conflict of interest: a company's marketing director shouldn't be the one fixing an article labelled as promotional--and indeed shouldn't have anything to do with the article at all. - Agreed, especially as this editor does not seem to be following the Wikimedia Foundation Terms of Use disclosure policies (WP:PAID) or make an attempt to engage here in the talk pages.
- I've re-added a banner at the top in the meantime (COI instead this time which seems more relevant). Quizwammer (talk) 21:38, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
License section should be revised
[edit]When I wrote this, there was a "License" section of this article which claimed, uncited, that:
All code developed within Linaro working groups is open source and therefore available under standard Open Source Initiative (OSI) license terms.
However, Linaro Forge is proprietary, which was acquired by Linaro from Arm in 2023. I have therefore removed the misinformation-containing Licensing section for now and would welcome a new, more accurate replacement for it. CommonsCrafter49 (talk) 11:52, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
