... that Lawrence Lesh(pictured in flight) worked on the aerodynamics of objects ranging from horse-drawn gliders to throwing knives?
Source: "he continued to experiment with horse-drawn biplane gliders at Dominion Park" / "applying his aerodynamic knowledge to the design of throwing knives"
ALT1: ... that Lawrence Lesh(pictured) worked on the aerodynamics of horse-drawn gliders, sailboats, and throwing knives?
Source: "he continued to experiment with horse-drawn biplane gliders at Dominion Park" / "applying his aerodynamic knowledge to the design of throwing knives" / "Lesh experimented with rigid rotating sails for boats in a wind tunnel and in the model boat basin at Jackson Park in Chicago"
Overall: Approve either ALT0 or ALT1- I find ALT0 slightly punchier, but I like the rhythm of 3 in the list for ALT1 - dealer's choice really. Article is new enough (created 11/7), long enough (2k B), no copyvio - EW 3.8% - but even that little fragment is completely unrelated / basically a false positive. I think the picture of him in flight is stronger - even at small size it has a striking silhouette, whereas the other is a pretty standard old photo portrait (edit: also non-free?). One small note- is it spelled Laurence or Lawrence? I would recommend consistency between article name + text of hook. Zzz plant (talk) 19:48, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ooops. I checked the sources, it should be Laurence, thanks for catching that. There's a few "Larry"s in the sources, but no Lawrence. And, you're right about the non-free image. So let's go with a hybrid and go with the glider photo: RoySmith(talk)20:06, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
ALT2: ... that Laurence Lesh(pictured in flight) worked on the aerodynamics of horse-drawn gliders, sailboats, and throwing knives?
Nice, imo that's the best of both worlds! ApprovedALT2 w/ in-flight photo (although ALT0/1 also both check out source-wise, and are still perfectly valid options). Great job on this article, super interesting bio! Zzz plant (talk) 20:25, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
