[edit]Talk:Kevin Sheekey
I started this page as due to the recent coverage of him in the press about his help with Bloomberg's presidential run I thought it would be interesting. I could use some help cleanign this up and I hope this does not get taken down.Dfs3 (talk) 00:14, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Updating for current position
[edit]I work for Bloomberg L.P., and while we would appreciate an independent editor updating this page, I am updating to add Kevin Sheekey's most recent career move, from the NYC mayor's office to the private Bloomberg L.P. I will use independent sources and cite them in the update. If anyone has any questions/problems I invite you to contact me directly (see contact info on my User Page. Update
[edit]This is true. Kevin Sheekey now works for Bloomberg LP. There should also be something about him managing Bloomberg's bid for a third term. I will be adding those changes to this page. Article Revisions
[edit]As discussed on the WP:COIN, my contributions to this article represent a COI as I am affiliated with Bloomberg L.P. As such, the edits that were just made in this revision were only made after review by an outside editor User:mabdul.
Major edits include replacing the "Education" and "Career highlights" with more descriptive titles "Personal life and education" and "Professional career," adding an infobox and incorporating citations throughout the article.
I'm working to obtain a non-copyrighted photo of Sheekey to add to the infobox. I welcome any additional input to continue to improve the article. Ordwayen (talk) 19:42, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, in my eyes did Ordwayen a good job with this new copyedit, at least the (former) article was bad written. mabdul 19:54, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Suggested Updates
[edit]![]() | This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. |
I am the declared connected contributor for Bloomberg related articles. I am seeking the community’s input in updating and improving this article. My suggestions include:
- Modifying the existing Personal life and education section to be Early life and education.
- In this newly titled section, add the following sentence: His father, Arthur, was an educational-technology professional who was involved in creating the Department of Education during the Carter administration. His mother, Kathleen, worked at Common Cause as a legislative director.[1][2]
- Create a Personal life section and move the content about his wife and children there.
- Add the following as the first sentence to the existing Career section: Following graduation, Sheekey worked for James Scheuer.[3]

Not done for now: Do you have another source and more detail to support the vague "involved in creating the Department of Education"? Likeanechointheforest (talk) 15:04, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Likeanechointheforest. Thank you for taking a look and responding. This New York Magazine article can be used as an alternative source. It states: "...his father, Arthur, [is] an educational-technology expert who helped create the Department of Education during the Carter administration."
- If you are OK with this source and these changes, I'd be happy to take the time to implement. Thanks again, DLARoss (talk) 15:02, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- Can you please expand in the suggested edit? Likeanechointheforest (talk) 17:07, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Likeanechointheforest, hi. My previous post was in response to your request for an alternative source. I've modified it above to include the source and the language used in that source about Sheekey's father. To clarify, the edit request is to restructure some of the content and include some missing biographical details. Thanks again for your consideration. As I've offered in the past, I'm happy to make these changes/additions with your approval. DLARoss (talk) 17:33, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- h, I mean expand with the source in a new proposed edit? Likeanechointheforest (talk) 17:56, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
