Ipados 18.2 beta 1 should be added to the release history section. 2001:FB1:B4:292E:FD0F:93CF:8D31:DDD1 (talk) 01:18, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ipados 18.2 beta name

[edit]

Under the release history Section,The name of 18.2 beta should be 18.2 beta 1 2001:FB1:B7:9073:E92C:EE91:3E7A:E473 (talk) 11:03, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Some people like it the way Apple says it, without the 1, and others like it the other way, with the 1, based on the edits I've seen (I think I may have seen edits adding the 1 and other edits removing it). (And there also appear to be people who like "Beta" and people who like "beta".) Guy Harris (talk) 21:17, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Editing article

[edit]

Which day can everyone edit the article? Is it 3 November 2024 like the ios 18 article? 2001:FB1:B7:9073:6D23:8AF2:8590:D4EA (talk) 10:43, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes; the protection was applied in this edit, which lists 2024-11-03 as the expiration date of the protection. Guy Harris (talk) 18:34, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stage manager

It literally says it's something new. It isn't. I have it in iPadOS 17 and I think I first saw it in iPadOS 16. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.140.145.227 (talk) 11:20, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Next iPadOS update

[edit]

I've done research and it is revealed there won’t be an iPadOS 19. It will skip to iPadOS 26. In some sources, it is stated that iPadOS 18 is the final update for 7th generation iPad because of the A10 chip. Retrosunshine2006 talk 00:17, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

it is revealed It is claimed that Apple will switch to year-based numbering. Unless somebody from Apple indicated it, and the person from Apple 1) knows what the plan is and 2) isn't giving out false information, it's not "revealed". And there will probably be a next release after iPadOS 18; the only question is what its name will be. (Hey, maybe they'll rename iOS to iPhoneOS while they're at it, given that it's iPhone-only now.)
Remember, WP:CRYSTAL. Maybe Mark Gurman got it completely wrong and it doesn't happen, or maybe he got it partly wrong and Apple aren't going to risk a Y2.1K problem and "wait, so why did the version numbers all jump?" questions and go with the full year number. Or maybe they'll really yank everybody's chain and go with Roman numerals, just as they did for Mac OS X. Guy Harris (talk) 02:43, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

🤔 Good point. Retrosunshine2006 talk 08:15, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
