[edit]That is what the lede says, but if you read further into the article it looks like someone updated the text but not the lede. Fixing this probably best done by updating to 2021 Elinruby (talk) 09:06, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

[edit]If redesigns are important enough for a timeline entry, they should be succinctly described as well, or what is the point? Also, someone should check this against the History section of the corporate website. Elinruby (talk) 09:55, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
Harian Metro: Malaysia's Leading Malay-Language Tabloid
[edit]Harian Metro is a prominent Malaysian daily newspaper, widely recognized for its significant influence in the country’s media landscape. First launched in March 1991, it was Malaysia’s first afternoon Malay-language tabloid, setting it apart from other newspapers that typically published in the morning. Based in the Klang Valley, Harian Metro quickly became a popular choice among readers for its tabloid format, which offered a more engaging and dynamic presentation of news.
Over the years, Harian Metro has adjusted its content to cater to changing reader demographics. It shifted its focus to appeal to a younger audience interested in entertainment, lifestyle, shopping, and current events, reflecting the evolving tastes of urban readers. The paper's successful transition to meet the demands of this demographic helped maintain its position as the highest-circulating newspaper in Malaysia, regardless of language.
In 2006, Harian Metro redesigned its layout, introducing new sections like “Rap” and “Variasi” to better capture its audience's attention. The paper continued to innovate by adding more content, such as the pullouts "GIGS" and "EKSTRA" in 2009, which further expanded its appeal.
Despite these efforts, Harian Metro faced challenges from the rise of online news, with its rival Mingguan Malaysia overtaking it as the top Bahasa Melayu newspaper in 2013. Nonetheless, Harian Metro remains an influential player in Malaysia's media industry, with its bold approach to tabloid journalism continuing to shape the way news is consumed in the country. Technical mistakes
[edit]Do you know that Harian Metro along with its sister publication Berita Harian has made too many technical mistakes, especially when involved entertainment sections, since 2003. 60.48.186.103 (talk) 09:21, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
