External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Gerard Martin. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20060831165512/http://www.csu.edu.au/division/vcoffice/uc/members.htm to http://www.csu.edu.au/division/vcoffice/uc/members.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

– Most people in the English-speaking world do not have an accented i on their keyboard, do not know its purpose, or would realistically be able to distinguish between two people just by looking for an accented letter. I know that it is correct to write the footballer's name with an accent, and I'm not asking to take that away, but the unaccented spelling is popular in English-language sources that people may be reading: BBC, Metro, the Athletic via The New York Times. Therefore, it is perfectly reasonable to expect that somebody is searching "Gerard Martin" for "Gerard Martín". If successful, create a disambiguation page for Gerard Martin, also including Gerard Martin (public servant) Unknown Temptation (talk) 16:21, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
- There is natural disambiguation here, can't you place a template like this?
- Good day—RetroCosmos talk 17:48, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
- Strong support 1st as the footballer has 24,662 views and the public servant has 101 compared with only 282[[1]] for the politician. People looking for the footballer in English probably wouldn't know to use a diacritic. Oppose 2nd per WP:SMALLDETAILS as it appears the footballer is the only use with the diacritic and would be primary even if not, people intentionally using the diacritic would only be looking for the footballer but the reverse isn't true. - Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. GiantSnowman 20:43, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support - no PRIMARYTOPIC and I had to squint to see the accent, so this will definitely aid navigation. GiantSnowman 20:44, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom and create dabpage at basename. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:19, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
