who has actual control of rafah ?
[edit]i read things that suggest rafah is totally under egyptian control, and other things that suggest the egyptians operate under some israeli guidelines or rules is there a clear answer here ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.91.51.31 (talk) 05:01, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

Recent changes
[edit]The claim that Israel does not allow goods to go directly from Egypt into Gaza through the Egypt–Gaza border is unfounded. Israel has no control over that border. I have undone the changes and it can be discussed here. Dovidroth (talk) 06:34, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
Why no pictures of the wall?
[edit]Wikimedia Commons has a whole bunch of pictures of the wall, including the anti-tunnel barrier. We should add some.

I suggest deleting the phrase ", which could only be of use for infiltration by militants," as it does not seem to be supported by reliable sources. The NPR article says that many tunnels discovered had been used for infiltration, but does not state that tunnels could "only" be used to infiltrate. Experience with tunnels in other regions suggests that cross-border tunnels could be used for migration, smuggling of goods, and several other purposes. Given the contentious nature of the topic I suggest a strict reading of the reliable source. Vegastrong (talk) 03:25, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
Partly done: I've removed the word "only" but left the rest. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 14:42, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
Edit needed for malformed sentence
[edit]The following sentence looks like an editing error: "From 1994 until 2004 a suicide bomber originating from within the Gaza Strip successfully carried out an attack in Israel (on 14 March 2004 in Ashdod)." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wmagro (talk • contribs) 15:34, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

Poor on essential facts
[edit]For lots of unanswered, but essential technical questions, see Talk:Rafah Border Crossing#Where? When? Who? Basics missing.
Not up to date (2 more relevant crossings for instance). Arminden (talk) 21:13, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
"Dubious" claim
[edit]The NYT article doesn't mention 2011 at all. Please revert the two latest edits and change the 2011 to 2006. Probably an editor made a mistake. KetchupSalt (talk) 10:19, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

Merge proposal
[edit]Merge Anti-tunnel barrier along the Gaza–Israel border into Gaza–Israel barrier. No need for separate articles, with more contextual coverage if they are merged. WP:REDUNDANT. Longhornsg (talk) 18:56, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- Support. Appropriate merge target that would not become unwieldy. PhotographyEdits (talk) 11:58, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 19:54, 7 October 2025 (UTC)

Some errors:
- From 1994 until 2004 a suicide bomber originating from within the Gaza Strip successfully carried out an attack in Israel (on 14 March 2004 in Ashdod). - makes no sense.
- Salah Al Din Gate links to nowhere, fix it to Rafah Border Crossing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.102.213.236 (talk) 19:34, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
Done Restructured the sentence regarding the attack, and changed the target of the link to the Rafah_Border_Crossing#Rafah_Land_Port section. tony 20:24, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
