  Per the article's history page, it was originally but the acronym got dropped due to no longer being relevant. Sesquilinear (talk) 06:38, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  All but one source in the article uses all caps (I mostly looked at the article title in the references and didn't click through to confirm) and a quick Google search showed only one or two sources that do not. I didn't look at publication date to see if there was a difference after they dropped the acronym but the most recent sources almost all used GNOME. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 16:42, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

• Oppose - We absolutely can have two articles this way per WP:DIFFCAPS, and we have for quite some time. Gnome and GNOME are two different pages, and there is no reason to have a parenthetical disambiguation for this article's title as this article is what is overwhelmingly meant when GNOME is used. -Aoidh (talk) 14:55, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
