How did I find sources for the article
[edit]Nowadays using AI is common in Wikipedia and we are seeing many people create articles with fake hallucinated sources. The creators are not responsible for making these articles. But as they use AI and publish their output without reading, what we find from the output is articles based on non-existence sources. That's why now it is almost impossible to trust offline sources.
However, I use historical newspapers and they are not so available online. But I use one website that give me access to some historical newspapers. Songramer Notebook is the provider of Bangladesh-based old newspapers, a newspaper published a news article about them: see here. But the problem is sometimes Songramer Notebook goes into maintenance for several months. So imagine what will happen if any user asks me about the validity of the newspaper sources I use in my articles when the website is in maintenance? In that situation, it is possible is the user might not believe me if I say that site is in maintenance and it will be live after several months. And that is normal as many people now creating articles with AI with fake sources. That's why I am writing this so that people can WP:AGF on my articles. Here I am giving the PDF link of the newspapers I used for the sources on the article:
- Daily Morning News, May 1962
- 7 May (PDF) (from this)
- The Sangbad, May 1962
- The Azad, May 1962
- The Sangbad, June 1962
- The Azad, June 1962
- The Azad, July 1962
- The Azad, October 1962
Songramer Notebook shares the newspapers in Google Drive. I was in fear that one day people can question about my articles when the website in maintenance. Also, there will be time when the website will be closed permanently. That's why I archived the links. It was on my mind lately and I couldn't sleep. Now I can sleep peacefully because there is something that can give me assurance that people will able to give me AGF about the offline newspaper sources. Mehedi Abedin 13:53, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
