The article is about a family of DRDO developed AWACS systems (Mk1, Mk1A, and Mk2), so it’s not relevant to mention the country of origin for each specific variant’s platform/airframe in the infobox. For example, the Mk1 is based on the ERJ-145, and the Mk2 on the A320. We can’t list every platform’s country of origin in the infobox as these are just platforms used for mounting AWACS system. So, focus on the Netra system itself in the infobox, with platform details reserved for the variants/platform section. Dl ff (talk) 07:12, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. This way the list would be similar to Erieye. Aviator Jr (talk) 11:03, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also the range for operational netra(basically mk1) isn't correct in the article; the actual range is far more; as we know, the range depends on the RCS value of the target, the 200km for most modern awacs is for fighter aircraft-sized targets, it's not the maximum.
review these sources→
the range of netra mk1 system[1][2][3][4] Dl ff (talk) 04:04, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So, I think the range should be something like "250 km to over 375 km" (as per DRDO the TF doc and Janes) and reportedly has a maximum detection range of 450 to 500 km. Please add this info. Aviator Jr (talk) 03:37, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Few suggestions
  • 1) Instead of >375 & 450 stuff directly mention upto 500 as instrumented/max range, there is nothing like minimum range when talking about awacs; it's detection range for small fighter sized targets(should be upto 375km in this case) & instrumented range (you should read Erieye#Design and globaleye[5]) Janes source isn't talking about the instrumented range but normal range band for normal targets the altitude should also effect the band.
    • Basically Detection range - upto 375km &
    • Instrumented/max range upto 500km
Alternatively mention detection range as 375km and mention 500km seperately in notes column.
  • 2) Rename "variants" section as "Variants(specification)" and exclude platform and in service column as there is seperate section for it.
Dl ff (talk) 05:31, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Rename Variants section as Variants (Specification).
  2. Mention maximum detection range as 250–375 km and instrumental range as 450–500 km in separate columns.
  3. I think Platform and Status column must be kept as a summary or precise information at a glance.
Aviator Jr (talk) 05:48, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • 2) No need to mention the lower end of the band(250km) in table when talking about the *Maximum* detection range, the DRDO source also only mentions 375km+ figure without any min-max value
    • 450-500 for instrumented is fine as it's most likely a rough estimation
(↑ suggestion is for the specification section only, we will mention the min-max in seperate section with theory; same as Erieye)
  • 3) Agreed for the platform column only, we have mentioned the status info. in infobox and then in seperately made a section "Platforms", so the specs section shouldn't contain the same information, we can expand it with further specifications instead.
Dl ff (talk) 06:34, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should keep 250 km value since it is the max detection range for smaller RCS targets. So it should be 250–375+ km. Also we should merge the Status colum from the Platforms section. I had forgot to remove that section actually. Aviator Jr (talk) 08:44, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
