Craig McConnell is a Canadian music executive, producer, songwriter, and composer known for his work in film, television, and the recording industry.

In the pop and commercial music world, McConnell co-wrote and produced "The Chase" for Celine Dion’s 2019 album *Courage*. He also produced and co-wrote the Top 20 CHR single "Carnival Hearts" and the Top 10 Hot AC single "What You're Made Of" for Kayla Diamond (Cadence/Universal). He has collaborated extensively with Priyanka, winner of *Canada's Drag Race*, including on her breakout single "Come Through", which has garnered over 10 million streams. Other collaborators include Keshia Chanté, Crystal Kay, Jane Zhang, CHEMISTRY, and Juno Award winner Divine Brown.

In the video game industry, McConnell wrote and produced the theme song for the 2023 CAPCOM release of *Resident Evil 4*.

As a film and television composer, his credits include feature films such as *Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy* (based on the novel by the author of *Trainspotting*) and *Textuality* (starring Jason Lewis). He has also scored dozens of TV movies for Hallmark, Lifetime, and the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). His episodic work includes *Bossy Bear* (Nickelodeon), *WordGirl* (PBS), *Wedding SOS* (Slice), and *Property Virgins* (HGTV). Alongside longtime collaborator Justin Forsley, McConnell co-wrote the theme songs and scores for the Nickelodeon sitcoms *Life With Boys*, *Max & Shred*, and *Star Falls*.

In 2012, he was nominated for Best Music at the British Independent Film Festival Awards for *Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy*.

In 2014, McConnell co-founded the production music company Hard Music Group. Through partnerships with APM (Sony/Universal), BMG, and international sub-publishers, the company has produced over 250 albums and supplies music to networks, production companies, advertisers, and digital platforms worldwide. He currently serves as President.

McConnell holds a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto, where he was part of the first graduating class of Biomedical Engineers. He has served two terms on the board of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada.

The proposed additions are written in a neutral tone and aim to improve accuracy and completeness without promotion or exaggeration. This also aligns the article with standards typically seen for composers with comparable credits.
