Attempt to fix article: what a doozy!

[edit]

Seems to me that User:BenjaminTolstoy contributed a majority to this article, judging from the edit history – and, not gonna lie, I think all the problems stem from that. A lot of this looks like it's horribly paraphrased, and there probably might be some cases of malformed synthesis. There were some inconsistencies or contradictions (examples: "PSII is present in chloroplast, (which is lacking in roots)"; "The mutant Chlamydomonas alga species lacks photosystems I and II", followed by passages that suggest they're present anyway); generally, it's just confusing. I tried to correct some sentences, but I got no time to review and revise for every sources (which were sometimes misplaced).

I believe most of these are salvageable anyway, and the sources (the free ones, at least) seem decent enough. Really, the problem here is in how these sources were interpreted by the article, and how these interpretations/takeaways are worded.

Side note: I re-added a citation that somehow got lost when BenjaminTolstoy made their first edit on this article.

I might have some editing errors because I'm on mobile; please look out for those. CheckNineEight (talk) 13:35, 13 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you completely—I attempted to add some categories and warnings in order to draw some more attention to this article in hopes of getting it fixed, since it seems like a tall order to expect any one user to revise it all. Dbrown1023 (talk) 22:24, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
