What Happened with Nuclear Blast?

Does anybody have any sources about what triggered the formation of Atomic Fire? Quite a few bands that were signed onto Nuclear Blast previously were signed in from day one, and of course the companies have the same founder, but I haven't been able to find any information about what transpired.
