Why is this referred to as a "killing"/why does this article have the word "killing" in the title?
Our policy on living people accused of a crime assumes the doctrine of "innocent until proven guilty". This article presumes the accused are innocent until found guilty in a court of law. Such convictions must be cited to credible sources. |

BK details relevant to criminality
[edit]Prior bad acts aren’t allowed in court, but we have eyewitness reports that BK self-injected heroin for more than a decade and suffered from an eating disorder in which he was a fundamentalist vegan who lost half his body weight. He also was a known burglar and thief, and was terminated from a student teaching position for the way he interacted with female students. These warning signs seem more relevant than his self-reported visual snow disorder and autism (which are included in the article).
while the majority of autistic people do not murder, the majority of teachers who are terminated mid-semester are sexual predators. Details about his prior acts are well-documented and relevant to his otherwise unknown motive. I propose we include details reported in the media about his chronic drug addiction and ancillary crimes, as well as the fact that the graduate department where he taught noticed his behavior around the time he committed the murders. 67.6.117.211 (talk) 14:07, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Provide the citations the relevant to his background. kencf0618 (talk) 15:08, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Timeline
[edit]While investigators initially thought the murders occurred between 4:00 and 4:25 a.m., the article later states that "At 4:04 a.m., the Elantra returned for a fourth time. At 4:20 a.m., the car was seen speeding away from the victims' neighborhood." So, can anyone find a later source where investigators narrow down the timeline? Other Details
[edit]Just out of curiosity, did they ever discover the reason WHY Kohberger committed those murders in the first place? And if so, then in my opinion, it would be a good idea to mention it on this page too (unless it's already there, and maybe I missed it or something). Regardless, that still doesn't change the fact that he's a psychopath - but that's still completely beside the point, of course. Also, autism isn't an excuse, because I'm actually a high-functioning autistic myself and I have like 1,000X more empathy than he does...
Also, I do remember people talking about this on ABC News a couple of weeks ago too. There was one part where that one older girl/young lady bravely stood up to Kohberger, cursed at him, and told him off on what a "pathetic psychopath" he is for murdering those four college students in such a sadistic and brutal manner. Was that Funke? Just curious. Regardless, whoever it was, I still think it would be a good idea to mention that in this page too. I'm not sure if you guys agree though, but I just thought I'd point this out as a suggestion. That's all! 71.104.75.6 (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- No motive was ever discovered for the murders.
- The "pathetic psychopath" statement you are referring to was made by Kaylee Goncalves' sister Alivea. Although impact statements are important, they don't need to be included, as they don't change the facts of the case. Assadzadeh (talk) 22:57, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
Put names of the 4 victims in lead section of article
[edit]Can we put the names of the 4 victims, Madison "Maddie" Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin somewhere in the lead paragraphs of the article please. I think the article would be a lot better that way. Nickm886 (talk) 06:54, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- The infobox image caption does name them before they have been identified, apparently assuming that readers already know something about the case. This is probably not best practice. ―Mandruss ☎ IMO. 09:26, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah the article is kind of awkward how it is now. Can I change it? The only change I will make is adding the names of the 4 victims in the lead. Nickm886 (talk) 09:50, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- The article is not protected, so your short editing history is not a problem. You certainly may change it per WP:BRD, subject to challenge. ―Mandruss ☎ IMO. 09:52, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, I just don't want any changes I make to get reverted back by someone else. I'll try to edit it, here goes. Thanks Nickm886 (talk) 09:54, 21 August 2025 (UTC)

That's a routine part of Wikipedia editing, get used to it. I get reverted multiple times a day. ―Mandruss ☎ IMO. 09:57, 21 August 2025 (UTC)- LOL 😂 Good to know! Nickm886 (talk) 09:58, 21 August 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Why isn't there a Wikipedia page on Bryan Christopher Kohberger?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:8369:0:7C60:44BE:EA55:6833 (talk) 22:57, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
