Susahab (Persian: سوسهاب)[a] is a village in Khanandabil-e Gharbi Rural District[4] of the Central District in Khalkhal County, Ardabil province, Iran.

Etymology

It is believed that this name is due to the many springs there, the most important of which are Turkan Bolaghi, Soyuq Bolagh, Dash Bolagh, and Qani Bolagh.[citation needed]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 530 in 126 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 552 people in 166 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 434 people in 151 households.[2]

Tourist attractions

Because of its original nature, Susahab is an important tourist destination. Agh Dagh is Khalkhal's highest mountain at 3,321 meters. It is a popular choice for climbing.[citation needed]
