Silver Oak University is a premier university located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was recognized as a University in 2019 by the University Grants Commission.[1][2] Announced as a State Private University (under Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009) Silver Oak was established in 2009 as an affiliated college and gradually grew into Silver Oak Group of Institutes. It is ranked 7th among top 10 Engineering Colleges in India by The Times of India and awarded as "Most Innovative Engineering College" by 94.3 My FM. The university offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the discipline of Engineering, Management, Arts and Science.

Academic Divisions

Silver Oak University comprises multiple faculties and constituent institutes offering programs in engineering, technology, management, science, commerce, design, humanities, and health sciences. Each division is structured to promote interdisciplinary learning and research-oriented education.

Faculties and Institutes include:

  • Faculty of Engineering & Technology – Offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and related fields.
  • Faculty of Management – Includes the Silver Oak Institute of Business Management (SOIBM), offering MBA and PGDM programs with specializations in marketing, finance, HR, and business analytics.
  • Faculty of Computer Applications – Provides BCA and MCA programs focused on software development, AI, and data science.
  • Faculty of Science – Offers programs in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Faculty of Commerce and Humanities – Covers subjects like Accounting, Economics, Psychology, and English.
  • Faculty of Design and Arts – Includes programs in Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Visual Communication.
  • Faculty of Allied and Health Care – Offers BPT, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Public Health programs.
  • Faculty of Research and Doctoral Studies – Oversees Ph.D. programs across disciplines, fostering advanced research and innovation.

Controversy

In January 2022, Silver Oak University was the subject of protests against charging its students unlisted fees for ID cards.[3]

On 7 September 2022, Silver Oak University was raided by the Income Tax Department on suspicion of tax evasion and undocumented contributions to political parties.[4][5] These investigations were conducted shortly before the school's graduation ceremony, expected to be held on 24 September.[6] Students have been placed on leave and the campus evacuated as investigations continue on the university's campus.[7][8]
