Shabbir Hussain (Urdu: شبیر حسین; born 1965 – 2024) was a former Pakistani footballer who played as a midfielder during the 1990s, he also represented the Pakistan national team at the 1990 Asian Games.

Club career

Hussain began his career with Hazara Club Quetta, and later went on to play for Pakistan Army, Pakistan Steel, and WAPDA.[1] He was also crucial to WAPDA's victory in the 1991 National Football Championship,[2] as well as their win for the 1992 National Games.[3]

International career

Hussain was initially selected for the 1987 South Asian Games, but played in the 1990 FIFA World Cup qualification. He then featured in the 1990 Asian Games against Singapore, the match would result in a 1–6 loss for Pakistan.[4][5]

In 1992, Hussain played one match against Iran in the 1992 AFC Asian Cup qualification losing by 0–7.[1] The same year, he participated with the national team at the 1992 Jordan International Tournament.
