There were approximately 30,000 P1s and 2,000 P2s manufactured.

Design

[edit]

Like the original Hi-Power, the Pindad is a recoil-operated, magazine-fed, self-loading, hammer-fired, semi-automatic pistol that uses 9×19mm Parabellum ammunition fitted in box magazines[3][4].

Variants

[edit]

The P1 has two variants, the P2 which operates in double-action[5] and is fitted with 15-rounded magazines and the P3.

Adoption

[edit]

The Pindad P1 and the Pindad P2 are the general issue sidearm of the Indonesian military[6]. They will be replaced by the Pindad G2[7][8].
