NUMAnimation (Japanese: ヌマニメーション, romanized: Numanimēshon) is a late-night Japanese anime programming block planned and produced by TV Asahi under the TV Asahi Animation label and broadcast from April to September 2020 as a local timeslot before converting to a network timeslot starting in October 2020 airing under the ANN affiliation from Sunday nights from 1:30 to 2:00.
History
[edit]Prior to the creation of the block, the timeslot was used to rebroadcast Yuri on Ice as well as In/Spectre. On January 22, 2020, TV Asahi announced the creation of the block and Sing "Yesterday" for Me became the first program to air on the block.[1][2] On August 11 of that same year, it was announced that the timeslot would be converted from a local format to a networked format and air on all of TV Asahi's 24 affiliates, becoming the channel's first late-night anime network timeslot. The Gymnastics Samurai became the first program to air when it was converted into a network timeslot.[3]
