Kahak Cave is a natural limestone cave located east of Kahak Village, near Delijan,[1] along the boundary between Markazi and Qom provinces.[2] It is situated approximately 86 kilometers south of Qom and west of Delijan.[3] The cave's entrance, a circular opening about 70 centimeters in diameter, is situated at an elevation of 8 meters above the hill.[4]
Description
[edit]The interior consists of a series of large platforms separated by pits ranging from 10 to 20 meters in depth.[5] Geologists believe these formations were created by a major landslide in the distant past. The cave also contains numerous gypsum columns, some reaching heights of up to 14 meters.[6]
