Jidon Armani Adams (born December 12, 2000), known online as JiDion, is an American YouTuber and online streamer.[3] He initially gained recognition for his vlogging and prank-oriented YouTube channel, but later shifted his focus to catching online predators through sting operations.[4]

Early life

[edit]

Jidon Armani Adams was born on December 12, 2000, in Clear Lake City, Texas, a neighborhood in the greater Houston metropolitan area. He attended Clear Lake High School.[5]

Career

[edit]

JiDion launched his YouTube channel on July 2, 2018, initially posting challenge videos and vlogs filmed during his high school years. As he refined his style, he shifted his focus to comedic vlogs and pranks, granting him massive success.

In October 2021, Adams uploaded a video where he was kicked out of a Best Buy by an employee, due to Adams entering the store shirtless. Later the same day, he brought a large group of other shirtless men to the Best Buy in order to harass the employee who had kicked him out.[6] That same month, he was banned from Wimbledon for his disruptive antics (which included repeatedly sounding an air-horn) during the quarterfinal match between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.[7]

In December 2021, Adams attempted to get an autograph from DeMarcus Cousins during a game in Houston, which prompted a Toyota Center security guard to try and halt the interaction. Cousins told the security guard that he was "taking [his] job too serious" and went on to sign Adams' jersey.[8] In March 2022, he crashed a Harvard University life sciences lecture for a comedy video.[9][10]

In January 2022, Adams was banned from Twitch after being accused of harassing Twitch streamer Pokimane and having his viewers spam her chat with "L + RATIO."[11] Adams later apologized and reconciled with Pokimane.[12] In September 2022, he was removed from the 2022 US Open men's finals after getting a haircut during the match.[7][13][14][15] In July 2023, Adams received a lifetime ban from all NBA and WNBA events for a stunt he pulled at a WNBA game which included him sleeping while the match was playing.[16]

In April 2023 Adams announced a partnership with the alt-tech platform Rumble, where he would exclusively live-stream during his Twitch ban.[17] On May 6, 2024, Adams announced that Twitch has reversed their ban and re-instated his channel, to which point he returned to streaming on Twitch.[18]

In September 2023, Adams announced that he would be retiring from making prank videos in turn of following Christianity.[19] The following month, he began making Christian content on a secondary channel, GiDeon.[20] He returned a couple of months later to his main channel, and also streams on Twitch under the name JiDionPremium [21] Adams started a series on his main channel called EDP Watch which are amateur sting operations where he impersonates minors on dating apps in an attempt to a catch child predators, who are then arrested by the police.[22][23]
