Jayanthi Kumaresh[1] is an Indian musician known for her proficiency in playing the Saraswathi Veena[2][3][4], playing various roles as an artist, collaborator, composer, researcher, creator, pioneer and educator. She was born into the Lalgudi family, is a 6th generation musician. She was awarded the Government of India’s Sangeet Natak Akademi[5] award in 2022 and was the recipient of Sangeet Shikhar Samman[6][7] [8] in 2019 conferred by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi kendra. She is the founder of the Indian National Orchestra [9], an ensemble that brings together artists from Carnatic and Hindustani traditions to represent India’s Musical Heritage and promote Indian classical music. Darbar.org says she was one of the youngest veena artist to receive A-Top grading from All India Radio.[10]

Jayanthi is a researcher with a doctorate focused on the styles and playing techniques of the Saraswati veena. She conducts workshops and lecture demonstrations internationally.

Jayanthi composed and released the album "Mysterious Duality,"[11] The artist has played 7 different Veena tracks.
