Ixia acaulis is a perennial flowering plant and geophyte belonging to the genus Ixia and is part of the vygieveld.[1] The species is endemic to the Western Cape and occurs on the Knersvlakte. The plant has an area of ​​occurrence of 35 km2 and on all three properties where it occurs, prospecting work is being done for limestone and its exploitation.[2]
