Inocencio Aniceto Transportation, also known as St. Joseph Transportation, is a family-owned provincial bus company based in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Officially founded in 1961 by Inocencio Aniceto[1] the company serves routes between Metro Manila and the Ilocos Region, with a fleet of buses composed of Hino, Isuzu, Mitsubishi Fuso, Hyundai, and King Long buses, among others.[2]

History

[edit]

The company was founded in 1961 by Inocencio Aniceto, a native of Ilocos Sur.[3]

In 1982, it became the first bus company in the Philippines to operate MAN Royal Commuter Service buses, distributed by Delta Motors Corporation.[citation needed]

In the 1990s, the company faced significant financial difficulties, which led to the sale of part of its fleet, including newly acquired Mercedes-Benz units, to Autobus Transportation. Its subsequent recovery required it to sell assets and rebuild operations under the leadership of Dr. Rodolfo Aniceto and his wife.[citation needed] Additionally, the company acquired surplus buses from Japan, including Isuzu Super Cruisers, Hino S'elega, Hino Blue Ribbons, and a Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Queen, and restored some of its former routes.[4]

In 2010, Aniceto Bus Line acquired Wheels of Fortune Transport, a tourist bus company, and later rebranded as "Aniceto Travel Services" to reflect its focus on charter operations.[citation needed]

In October 2011, the company began operating the Baguio–Vigan route.[citation needed]

In 2017, it introduced new King Long buses to its fleet.[5] However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic derailed these efforts, and as of 2023, their business activities have been mostly inactive.
