General Sutter is a 1999 Swiss historical film directed by Benny Fasnacht and starring Wolfram Berger, Werner Bachofen, Hannes Schmidhauser and Rahman Dalrymple. It is based on the life of John August Sutter, a German-born Swiss figure who participated in the American gold rush in the years before the American Civil War.
Music
[edit]The music was composed by Swiss composer Philippe Blumenthal and recorded in Prague with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and later released on a hard to find CD. It was Blumenthal's first orchestral score for a feature film.[1]
