Gastropholis echinata is a species of lizard found in Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.[1]
The Latin specific epithet of echinata refers to hedgehog, from echinus.[2]
