Fair use
[edit]The image being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- it is a low resolution still of a television series;
- it does not limit the copyright owners to sell the film in any way;
- it illustrates the episode in question and aids commentary on the plot outline;
- There is no known replaceable non-fair use image.
The Simpsons is Copyright Fox.
Licensing
[edit]This image is a screenshot of a copyrighted television program. As such, the copyright for it is most likely owned by the company or corporation that produced it. It is believed that the use of a limited number of low-resolution screenshots
- for identification of and critical commentary on the television program and its contents
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
qualifies as fair use under the Copyright law of the United States. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. For more information, see Wikipedia:Non-free content.

To the uploader:
- Please add a detailed non-free use rationale for each article the image is used in, which must also declare compliance with the other parts of the non-free content criteria, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
- For example non-free use rationales, see Wikipedia:Use rationale examples.
- This template is only for use on images which are screenshots from television. For screenshots of title cards of television programs or station IDs, use {{Non-free title-card}} instead.
- Template:Non-free use rationale may be helpful for stating the rationale.
