Evan Michael Simon is an American football quarterback for the Temple Owls. He previously played for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Early life and high school
[edit]Simon grew up in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania and attended Manheim Central High School. Coming out of high school, Simon was rated as a three-star recruit and committed to play college football for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.[1]
College career

[edit]As a freshman in 2021, Simon completed 16 of 28 pass attempts for 145 yards and an interception.[2] He finished the 2022 season playing in nine games with two starts, where he completed 79 of 133 passes for 777 yards and four touchdowns with six interceptions.[3] In 2023, Simon appeared in just one game, where he completed two of three pass attempts for 30 yards and a touchdown.[3] After the season, he entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[4]
Temple
[edit]Simon transferred to play for the Temple Owls.[3][5] In his first start in week 3 of the 2024 season, he completed 17 of 25 passing attempts for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in a loss to Coastal Carolina.[6] In week 4, Simon completed 17 of 27 passes for 271 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown as he led the Owls to their first win of the 2024 season, beating Utah State.[7]
