Eudoxa
Eudoxa was a Swedish think tank based in Stockholm, active from 2000 to 2016. It focused on science and technology policy, with an emphasis on liberal and transhumanist perspectives. Independent of political or religious affiliations, it engaged in public discourse and policy analysis on topics such as biotechnology, health care, intellectual property, and emerging technologies.[1][2]
Eudoxa organized seminars and conferences about these subjects, produced reports for corporations and organizations and promoted public debate.
It had a staff consisting both of scientist and humanists, in order to bridge the rift between The Two Cultures on evaluating the effects of emerging technologies, and give a better analysis. Its intellectual inspiration derived much from the book The Future and Its Enemies by Virginia Postrel.
Eudoxa discussed biotechnology, harm reduction, health care, nanotechnology, RFID, and intellectual property.
Recognition
[edit]In the 2014 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, published by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program at the University of Pennsylvania, Eudoxa was ranked 25th among the world's top science and technology think tanks.[3][4]
The think tank was closed in 2016.
