REG: Wikipedia Content Policies

[edit]

Hi, can anyone help if this draft content comply with Wikipedia content policies. I have given enough citation links from all reputed publishers. Have derived content using news from the publishers, have not entertained any topics away from news publishers. Thank you very much.

Use of press releases

[edit]

This man made a major donation to Cambridge University. The draft says of it: "This act is recognized as one of the most significant Indian-origin philanthropic gifts in the history of Cambridge University". This is a major claim, one that of course requires an unassailably reliable source.

The source currently provided for it is described as {{cite news|title= Historic Endowment at Cambridge to Advance Global Study of Dravidian History and Politics|publisher=Times Of India |url= https://thewire.in/ptiprnews/historic-endowment-at-cambridge-to-advance-global-study-of-dravidian-history-and-politics|access-date=2025-06-21}}. It's quite long and I didn't bother to read it. My reason for not reading it was what's written at its foot, viz:

(Disclaimer: The above press release comes to you under an arrangement with NRDPL and PTI takes no editorial responsibility for the same.)

This is an auto-published feed from PTI with no editorial input from The Wire.

So the source is a mere press release. ("PTI" is the Press Trust of India. Its latest press releases are here.)

Incidentally, the website's "About" page doesn't mention The Times of India.

Any reviewer thinking of accepting this draft as an article will have to search for and remove references to junk sources. And the reviewer can't assume that the descriptions of the sources are candid. -- Hoary (talk) 07:42, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Hoary, I have reviewed your submission declination due to draft denote mere press release. Further analysis of your claim, I have reviewed it and removed the statement including 'The Wire' citation link.
Publisher mentioned as 'Times of India' was a typo error, mistake from my side instead of 'The Wire'.
I kindly request you to read this page of 'University Of Cambridge' where it's listed out the complete details of Philonthropy act towards Dravidian studies as Cambridge.

Moreover, I thank for your support in identification citations, happy for any more suggestions to improve the article. Thank you. ArmeVijay (talk) 09:48, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
