Walampoori: Seven and Half Dreams (Sinhala: වාලම්පුරි හෙවත් හීන හතහමාරක්) is a 2025 Sri Lankan Sinhalese thriller film directed by Lakmal Darmarathna, renowned for his acclaimed teledrama Koombiyo. This marks his debut in feature filmmaking. The film was produced by Asanka Dodantenna and Pradeep Perera, with a screenplay co-written by Darmarathna and Damitha Chandrasiri. It was released in Sri Lankan theaters on April 25, 2025.
Plot Summary
[edit]The narrative follows five village con men, each with unique skills, who form a traveling performance troupe to camouflage their illicit activities. Their lives take an unexpected turn when they are approached by Swami Makandaraja, a con artist posing as a Hindu priest. He convinces them to impersonate businessmen in a scheme to purchase two mystical conch shells known as "Walampooris".
