Vladimir Anisimovich Fanyuk is a Soviet and Russian journalist and writer.

Biography

Vladimir Frayuk was born in Kharkiv on July 29, 1931. His biography was primarily shaped by his time spent in school, the military, and finding his place in life. Vladimir Frayuk worked in construction, as a sports instructor, and as a loader. After his demobilization, he was sent to the Arctic, where he served as a sailor on a fishing trawler in the North Atlantic. He also studied at the Institute of Cinematography, where he majored in screenwriting.

Vladimir Franyuk went from being an ordinary sailor to becoming a journalist. In 1959, his first story, «My Place», was published in the newspaper «Vodny Transport».

In 1962, the Molodaya Gvardiya publishing house released a collection of short stories called «The Time of Hope».

Vladimir Fanyuk's second book was the novel «The Circle», which was based on his biography and tells the story of the work and lives of commercial sailors.

His next work was the 47-page action-packed novel "The Polished Cabinet" about the work of criminal investigation officers. The novel was published in the Ogonyok Library magazine by Pravda in 1979, under the number 2.

In 1974, journalists Vadim Churbanov and Vladimir Frayuk wrote a 104-page essay about the construction of the KamAZ plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. The book is illustrated with rare photographs from the plant's construction. The essay was published by Molodaya Gvardiya. The book is located in the KamAZ Museum in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Vladimir Fanyuk's essays and documentary stories were published in such magazines as Smena, Chelovek i Zakon, Znamya, Semya i Shkola, and others.

In 2022, the novel «The Polished Cabinet» was republished by the Retrofond publishing house in the collection «Case Number 79».
