Village Pointe is an outdoor shopping mall located in Omaha, Nebraska. The mall opened on May 28, 2004 and has 23 stores.

History

On November 7, 2001, an, "open-air mall," was announced for West Omaha. The mall was planned to have 30 stores, include 575,000 square feet of retail space and would cost $50 million to build.[1] On October 17, 2002, the planned size of the mall was increased by 200,000 square feet with costs increasing to $124 million. Scheels was also announced as an anchor tenant.[2]

Construction began in 2003 and was completed in May 2004. A few days before the opening, Best Buy and nine other retailers joined the tenant list.[3] Village Pointe officially opened on May 28, 2004 and was the first major shopping center since Oak View Mall in 1991.[4] During the opening ceremony, 300 people attended, including then-Omaha mayor Mike Fahey.[5]

In 2019, when Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Omaha for the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting, Cook made a visit to the Apple Store in Village Pointe.[6]

In 2024, Nordstrom Rack announced that it would occupy a building previously used as by Bed Bath & Beyond.[7]
