Draft:Vaniköy

Vaniköy is a neighborhood on the Bosphorus between Çengelköy and Kandilli on the Anatolian side of the Bosphorus within the borders of the Üsküdar district of Istanbul.

The name Vaniköy comes from Vani Efendi, a devout Muslim who lived in the 17th century. The Vani Mehmed Efendi Mosque from that time still stands on the shore. There is an observatory known as the Kandilli Observatory on the hills of the district. There are many beautiful mansions in the district. Some of these are the Kadınefendi Mansion, Fazıl Bey Mansion, Nazif Pasha Mansion and Mahmut Nedim Pasha Mansion.

Kuleli Military High School is also a little further from Vaniköy in the direction of Çengelköy.
