The Life Story of the Flash is a 1997 graphic novel by the creative team of writers Mark Waid and Brian Augustyn, and artists Gil Kane, Joe Staton, and Tom Palmer, for DC Comics. The plot of the novel is presented as an in-universe biography by Iris West on her late husband Barry Allen's life and career as the superhero the Flash, occasionally interjected by points from her own past. Many of the events depicted in the story were taken from comic books featuring Barry, from his debut appearance in Showcase #4 (1956) to his death in Crisis on Infinite Earths #8 (1985).
