Strong Hold is an American manufacturer of industrial-grade storage and workspace solutions, including heavy-duty steel cabinets, workstations, carts, and modular products. The company is noted in trade publications for its rugged construction, rapid delivery, and Made-in-USA production.[1]
History
[edit]Strong Hold originated as a division of Fabricated Metals LLC, which was founded in 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky, by Anthony W. Diebold as a job shop producing metal components for local manufacturers.[2] In 1993, Diebold's sons, Tom and Frank, recognized the potential of a robust, welded steel cabinet they had built—and dubbed it the "Strong Hold." This marked the birth of the Strong Hold brand.[3]
As of today, Strong Hold operates from a 130,000-square-foot facility and emphasizes handcrafted American-made manufacturing, a diverse workforce, and family ownership spanning three generations.[3]
World record
[edit]On March 17, 2025, Strong Hold set a Guinness World Record for the world's largest steel storage cabinet at PROMAT 2025 in Chicago. The cabinet measured 22.9 feet (6.94 m) tall, 10.6 feet (3.20 m) wide, and 7 feet (2.14 m) deep; it weighed approximately 8,000 lb (4 tons) and was built from 12-gauge steel.[4] The attempt was officially verified by Guinness adjudicators, who certified the record on-site at the show.[5]
