Splitit is a financial technology company that offers installment payment services that use consumers’ existing credit cards.[1][2] The company is headquartered in Atlanta, USA, and serves merchants worldwide.[3]
History
[edit]Splitit was founded as PayItSimple by Alon Feit and Gil Don.[4] The company’s technology was covered by a United States patent, originally filed in 2007 and issued in 2012, for a "method and system for facilitating credit transactions" that allows purchases to be divided into installments on existing credit cards.[5]
The company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in 2019, raising A$12 million through its initial public offering.[6][7]
In 2023, Splitit received private equity backing from Motive Partners and moved to delist from the ASX.[8][9]
Products and services
[edit]Merchants can integrate Splitit’s installment payment system at checkout in both online and physical stores.[10][11][12] A white-label version of the platform allows merchants to present installment payments under their own branding.[13][14] In 2025, Splitit added support for Samsung Pay, extending its installment options to mobile wallet transactions.[15]
